What this is

We read every game the world’s grandmasters play, and look for the ply where the game actually turned. The engine checks the answer before it reaches you, and the positions are ranked by how much they teach rather than how hard they are. What you get is the decision, at the moment it mattered, with nothing explained away in advance.

A rating for reading a position

Brilliancy Elo is not the same skill as playing a game out. It moves on your first attempt at each position, it is the same number on every device you sign in on, and a peek or a reveal counts against it. That is the point: the number is only worth having if it can go down.
